"Great address in Nice"
Hotel Regence is in a very convenient location, and when first arriving at the hotel you feel like you're at the center of everything. Walking in from the busy pedestrian street outside is refreshing and staff are friendly and speak fluent English.
The area immediately outside the hotel has its fair share of shops and tourist trap restaurants but a short walk will bring you to just about anywhere in the center of Nice.
Our room's yellow coloured walls and decor felt a little out-of-style but it was spacious and clean. It had all the amenities required for a short stay and is probably at the higher end of 2-star accommodation.
Breakfast was on the weak side with ordinary bread and vending machine coffee. Overall the hotel provided the perfect base for sleeping and the location can't be beat, you get real value for the price you pay.

"Great!"
My sister and I stayed at the Régence recently for 5 nights and we had a great time. The hotel is very well situated (right in the centre, 5mn from the beach & Promenade des Anglais) surrounded by plenty of restaurants & shops. We had booked a classic double room and it was quite clean and roomy, the view was not great because it overlooked a warehouse but at least it was quiet at all times, we slept soundly!!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We visited Monaco (30mns by train) and Cannes (40mns by train), both were easily accessed. Nice is not cheap but has a bit of everything for everybody, stunning views from the hills, picturesque old streets in the old part of the city - try to do the City Bus tour, it'll give you an overview of the city and then you can decide what/ where you want to see/ go; the ticket is valid all day and you can hop on/off. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay at both the Régence and Nice and its surroundings!!! Look forward to going back....

"As Good As Ever"
Stayed at this hotel for the third year running. This is an exellent hotel situated in an excellent position in the pedestrian area of Nice and only 5 minutes walk from the sea. The staff are all very helpful and cheerful and speak very good english. The hotel itself is very clean, the bedrooms are ample and the bathroom (shower) is first class. The rooms could be a little bigger with a little more hanging space but the other features make thiasa minor point. The breakfast room is nice and again everything is very clean. The breakfast is what I call typically French, three different pastries with as much butter, cheese, honey, jam and marmaladeas you want. There is also as much fresh orange juice, tea and coffee as you wish to drink. If you want a good clean hotel at a very good price (double room for my wife and I for six nights in the region of £340 (easyjet hotels) then this is the place for you). The hotel is also only 5 minutes walk from the airport bus stop which costs only 4 euro's |
