"Very good value" I doubt very much that any hotel anywhere on the whole of the Cote D'Azur could offer such a great central location as this hotel. Ok there isn't a bar in the hotel nor a restaurant (there's a mini bar) and the paint work in the room may leave a lot to be desired but you are 10 seconds from the Promendae Des Anglais, turn right outside of the hotel and there are numerous bars and restaurants( I would recommend a Corsican restaurant LaMaison de Marie for a bit of South Eastern flavour) The room is more than adequate with a good shower, good size and a balcony that looked out onto the Mediterrean Sea. There are numerous things to do in Nice and for free is the view from the top of the Old ruined Chateau which offers great photo opportunities along the beaches and also the harbour area of nice. My wife persuaded me to go on one of these open top bus trips round the city and this was surprisingly good. Finally don't bother with taxi's from the airport - pay 4 euros on a no.98 bus and it will take you right to the door of the hotel within 15 minutes.Recommended

"loved the hotel perfect location" A few months before going we booked one night for a room with a balcony at the cheapest possible nonrefundable rate on the hotel's website. Mysteriously when we arrived to check in they upgraded us to a suite. The suite was sweet. Two gigantic rooms, a bath and a half. The most comfortable bed of our whole trip. one balcony off the bedroom with an ocean view and one off the living room that wrapped around the building. The double windows made for total silence even though we were only three floors up. I woudn't stay here without paying a little extra for an ocean view. The hotel is directly across from the beach, bars, shops, cafes and car rental. Could not have been better. Also a really quick trip from the airport on the bus. If anyone has any questions feel free to email me and ask.

"Great value for money" Great value for money here, the room rates were cheap but the hotel was very clean, moderm, rooms were nice. We had a balcony over looking sea & park next door. The best feature is the location right on Promenade des Anglias in the middle of the city. The bars, shops, cafes & restaurants are all on your doorstep.

"A real find on the Promenade des Anglais" This hotel is well located; it shares walls with the Le Meridien and Casino Ruhl, along the Promenade des Anglais. The Mercure's entrance is on a narrow street (easy to miss if you’re in a car) alongside has assorted shops, cafés, and restaurants and leads to a main shopping street. The hotel is located just 3 blocks from the Cours Saléya and is very close to the pretty little Parc Prince Albert, with its antique carrousel. Our fairly large room, with a sea view, was very pleasant and comfortable. We had a queen-sized bed AND a twin against the back wall), which was great for working on luggage, and a good-sized bathroom with new fittings. The room’s walls were orange, accented by blue curtains and azure painted furniture. From the bed I could look out at the sea, and the room was very quiet because of one set of window/glass doors on the inside and another for the balcony. We got an excellent senior rate (190 Euros for the room and 2 buffet breakfasts for the price of one). The breakfasts were excellent: a number of hot dishes, a gadget for making soft-boiled eggs the way you like them, assorted pastries and fruits, juices, yogurt, cereals, cold meats and cheese, breads (and a toaster), preserves and marmalade...a real feast. We had stayed earlier at the La Pérouse and thought the Mercure a much better value--and more comfortable, too, as the bed wasn't like a rock. We will make this our regular hotel in Nice in the future. The easiest way to make reservations is via the Accor Hotels web site.

"Location, Location, Location" Great Location. The rooms weren't spectacular(they were clean, though), but, the location was great. Ask for an ocean-front room if available when you get there. We'd did and got a balcony with views of the most beautiful ocean in the world.The casino is located right next store, great restaurants surround this hotel as well. Take a walk to the 'old city' just blocks away. You'll find somegreat shopping here. Antiques and linens. We had a great time just walking around this area.

"Excellent Hotel" We recently stayed 4 nights at this hotel and could not have been more pleased. It has an excellent position on the sea front, 20 mins walk from the main rail station and close to the town centre. The rooms are large and comfortable and serviced immaculately. The buffet breakfast is excellent and has something to suit all tastes. There is no restaurant but there are many excellent restaurants close by.

"A very convenient location" Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights (March 17th- 20th, 2005). Not far from the train station (a quick taxi ride--we arrived at night due to train breakdown and didn't want to walk). The staff here were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was large and very clean and comfortable. Had booked room over internet and got a room that overlooked rue de Havely but all you had to do was turn your head to the left and see the Med. This hotel is right on the promenade....walk across the street from the sea (watch for traffic when you cross...). The airport bus stops right in front of the hotel for pickup (4 Euros/person). There are lots of restaurants in the area...we went to Le Lodge down the street (Havely) for a good meal. McDonalds is in the same building for those who aren't as adventurous in what they eat (the typical boring Big Mac)...a better bet would be Quick, just down the street from the hotel, and with all the burgers and such you would want. The flower market is a short 5 minute walk (if that) and you can also buy baked goods, cheese, fruit, etc. there for making your own lunch (everything was delicious). The Casino Ruhl is also in the building and I ventured in for a few minutes to check it out (left with more than when I went in). If we ever get back to Nice, this is where we are going to stay again.

"The best location" The best location,rooms are quite neat and clean.But must stay in a room with a sea view. Even if I become a billionare I will stay here only.

"Nice to Stay" Excellent location, just a road across the beach. Restaurant around, you can have meal easily. Neat and tidy room. If you have money, upgrade to a seaview room. definately pleasant.

"Nice hotel and location" This hotel is in a perfect location right on the Promenade and near everthing. The rooms were large...compared to many European rooms...we had a Seaview which is worth the extra money. I think this is one of the most reasonable hotels I found with a seaview. I paid 155 euros per night...most other hotels with seaview were much more. Bathrooms were clean. King size bed had a down comforter that was wonderful. The airconditioning was very nice....and cold. The rooms were soundproof...no street noise. The bus stop back to the airport is right outside the door. The driver dropped us off about a block down when we came. 4Euros to the airport. We would stay there again.

"Lovely rooms" The hotel itself is in an A1 location, in easy walking distance of all the sights. The rooms have been recently renovated and were large and attractive, and had the most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept in.
