"business hotel in great location"
This was a business trip. I booked a room with a sea view. The room was as described. The sun made the room rather warm and when I opened the window for some air there was a lot of noise. I turned on the AC but found out that they do not run the AC in the winter months. When I complained I was given a Jr Suite on the back side of the hotel. This was a nice comprimise. I did not have a view but I did have a large terrace and could open the door for air. The location was perfect. Just arond the corner from Old Nice and very close to the larger shops. Taxi stand accross the street. Car rental companies next door. Room service was prompt and the food was good. The beds are very comfortable. Staff was very helpful. They have a spa on the 9th floor. I did not have time to use. If you are looking for a French hotel with charm, this is not the place. If you need a business hotel, then I would recommend.

We were really worried about staying here because of the reviews. And, we *did* get a weird odor one of the days...but it was in the hall and really not a big deal. It smelled like an old beach towel. Whatever... So our checkin process was easy (though 2 men in one bed did raise an eyebrow) and we got "upgraded" to a lovely room overlooking the Gardens/Old City and the Sea. The staff was so accommodating and their English was usually great. There are no clocks in the hotel tho...so you'll have to rely on the TV or a watch to tell time. Very strange. Otherwise, everything you could need is right there. The front desk has beach towels (there is a public beach that's free...but keep in mind, there is no sand, only well-worn rocks that you have to re-arrange to get comfortable on). There's also a private beach, but we liked mingling with non-hotel people. Stay here. It was clean, spacious, near tons of fun stuff, and the staff was great.

Located very well, good departure point to discover Nice & Cote d'Azur(with wonderful views to the beach and closely to airport (10 min by taxi,+/- 35 euros). my room was in the highest floor 9, very ample and with a comfortable bed with an ample terrace with wonderful views of the beach. Breakfast very complete buffet with ample variety of products. Is a McDonalds right under the hotel that always is a good option due to the high prices of the restaurants in Nice. In summary wonderful hotel for a great & expensive city.

"Le Meridien-The Best"
What a surprise, based on reviews I was not sure what to expect but what a pleasant surprise. The hotel staff was courteous, professional and attended to our every need. We were even upgraded though our room was available. They spoke good english and patient french since I was not fluent. A great location, it is a short walk to old town and a cab was 10 euros to just about any place you want to go. The airport bus (line 98) drops you off in front of the hotel for 4 euro and picks you up as well cant beat it. We stayed for three nights and the hotel was wonderful. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to explore Nice from a central location. I recommend it to everyone and will stay there again.

"Great experience"
We stayed at Le Meridien for three days in early October and had a great time. We had their standard room which faced East with views of the city and the sea. We had a small balcony -- you could stand on it but not enough room to sit on it. We saw a great sunrise every morning. We had a king sized bed which was really two single beds attached together. It was pretty comfortable -- you wouldn't have really known it was two beds. The room was large by European standards -- about average by US standards. Decorations were pleasant and the room was very clean. The hotel staff was wonderful -- very friendly and helpful. There were always plenty of people available so we never had to wait. Everyone behind reception is a consierge so you can get assistance and recommendations from anyone available. They worked great together as a team also -- if one didn't know the answer, they found someone else who did. Our room came with a buffet breakfast included. Eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, hash browns, pastries, cereal, fruit, juice, bread, cheese, etc. It was very good. The location is great -- right on the sea with a short walk to old town. We walked to everything we wanted to see in Nice. I would definately stay hear again if coming to the Riveria.

"Nice in Nice"
My children and I just spent 3 nights at the Meridien in Nice. We did not have a great view but the room even through smallish was comfortable. The beds were very comfortable, probably some of the best I have ever been on in a hotel. We had a great patio where you could sit and use as an extended room. The pool was nice but closed at 6:30 pm. Just when we wanted to use it after a day of walking around. Felt very safe and the staff was very helpful with all my needs.

"My best ever hotel experience"
What a Hotel. Visited Le Meridien on my four day Honeymoon at the start of September and I must admit was a little worried when I looked through other reviews on this site, But my fears were soon behind me once we entered the hotel, the staff were friendly and more than helpful when planning trips etc, the breakfast was great and very relaxed and I don't know where to start on the room, overlooking the gardens of Albert1er and with a clear view of the sea, my holiday was complete (my wife cried when she saw the room). Loved Nice, Loved Le Meridien and hopefully will return next year.
