Nice and beautyful
Modern building near the sea and very central near the old town. Nice room with all accomodation. Good for holiday but not for business (no business corner!). Nice people. Expensive beachclub (16 Euro per Person) but nice and near! Seawater very good. People mixed from England to Russia until France-People. We will come again. PS: Do not take the breakfast. Its nice but expensive. If you book here bei gthahoels the its ok (included in the price). Better breakfast you will receve in the near Le petit pain. Extremely nice. The best food with nice service and a lot of food you MUST to go to "la voglia" near the hotel. Its extremely good! July 2007/Switzerland |

"Had a great stay at Beau Rivage"
We stayed at the Beau Rivage for four nights (Oct. 20-24) and really enjoyed our stay. Our room was very comfortable (great bed, very upscale linens). The location was great, we walked everywhere. Such a pretty city...
And the weather! Our last day it was around 75 degrees so we skipped our plans to see Monaco. Instead, we went to the hotel's beach and planted our butts on the comfy chaise lounges for about five hours and had one of the best days of our trip.
I will agree with other posters on one thing -- there can be a lot of noise outside the Beau Rivage at night. Our room looked to the harborside, and some of the Old Nice bars were a short block from our fifth story room. The noise kept me up a few nights. But that's travel anywhere.
Overall, we really enjoyed the Beau RIvage and found the staff very nice and quite cordial.

"Great Location"
I stayed in this hotel in November 2005; it is modern inside, with design-led decor. The rooms all have plasma screen televisions. My room was small (probably not too bad for Nice though, paying approx £80-£100 a night). However, it was very clean, good bedding etc.. and looked out onto a pretty courtyard. I can imagine guests staying in the summer thinking this is an expensive hotel and maybe not fantastic value for money. My stay in the low season was fine for what I paid.
The hotel does have a great location; it's right next to the Old Town and very near the beach. My tip to travellers is to be a bit careful of eating in the Old Town; it's heavily geared up to tourists and the food seems to be the same everywhere; I can't believe too many locals eat in this part of town. Try to find somewhere a bit off the beaten track; incidentally, I had a much better meal in the Galleries Layfayette department store which was better priced and it seemed to be patronised by locals.
Overall, the Beau Rivage is a decent enough hotel, a little pretentious, but don't expect your money to go very far. I think you are paying for it's good location in Nice.

"Great location"
It's the location that really makes this hotel.
Modern hotel right in the heart of the old town, moments from the flower market and restaurants. My husband & I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of March. We hired a car and drove along the coast to Menton and back through Monaco and Eze. It was a good time to go, the sun was shining and thankfully the roads were not packed with tourists (avoid going in the peak of summer, it's a nightmare driving from A to B).
Anyway, the only negative about the hotel is the noise from the street and the fact there is no car parking. Instead, you will have to pay 22 euros to park in the public carpark, unless you are lucky to get a park along the promenade - a tip the lane closet to the beach is free.

Beau Rivage
This is a lovely looking hotel in a fabulous location. The rooms are adequate (could do with a lick of paint) but are very contemporary and well designed with a seaside theme. Our room was at the front of the hotel (which is actually the back!) Ask for a room overlooking the sea as the front of the hotel is on a busy road and as it is close to bars and restaurants it can get quite noisy at 2am. It has a fantastic location next to the sea, in the old town and on the most amazing street of bars and restaurants - you couldn't ask for any more! The breakfast was fine, it was included in the price but i'm not sure i would have paid separately for it as it did seem expensive. I would definitely stay here again! |
